Glow Recipe is a clean, fruit-inspired skincare, inspired by co-founders Sarah Lee and Christine Chang’s Korean heritage. They’re not a K-beauty brand because they’re based in New York, but they bring innovative K-beauty ideas and make them understandable and relatable in America.

Lee and Change have been friends for more than a decade. They first met while they worked at L’Oréal in the marketing and product development departments. Their first product was inspired by their grandmother’s heat-rash remedy, watermelon rind. The product sold out seven times and had a waitlist of 8,000 people. Sephora stores in the U.S. and Canada all sold out.

Lee encourages entrepreneurs to go for their dreams but to assess the market opportunity and balance their dreams with their expertise. Chang advised new brands to ask for help and create a strong team of the right people. As business partners and friends, they do have disagreements, but Chang and Lee say they both share responsibility in marketing and product development which keeps them in constant communication.
